Cindy Saunders:
Care Advisor
Role:
As Care Advisor, Cindy is responsible for initial inquiries and consultations with potential care recipients and their families. During the consultation, she completes a comprehensive client care assessment, evaluates the level of care, and uses the information to create the best possible care plan. She also conducts home safety checks and suggests ways to make the home environment safe. Cindy continually researches, discovers and cultivates community resources that can help with services that Visiting Angels does not provide, and with alternative methods to help pay for home care.
Background:
Before joining Visiting Angels, Cindy was a professional caregiver and cared for her own family members. As a former teacher and Certified Family Wellness Instructor, she is comfortable with people of all ages, and enjoys the intergenerational connections and contributions that each has to offer.
Why:
Cindy has a passion for working with seniors and their families. Her involvement in senior advocacy began at an early age when she discovered the sub-optimal care present in a neighborhood convalescent home. Cindy organized a group of friends to make daily visits to the residents. She watched them, week after week, look forward to her visits, smile, laugh, and tell her their life stories. Observing the transformation (from mere existence to one of engagement with life) prompted Cindy to begin a life committed to working with seniors and their families. Cindy derives satisfaction from knowing that seniors feel worthy and appreciated.
Interests:
Cindy enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, camping, gardening, and playing tennis. One of her greatest joys is spending time with her friends and family, especially her two daughters and husband.
