She has served on various advisory committees including; Cabrillo Medical Assistant Program, Hospice of Santa Cruz County, and presently serves on the Alzheimer Association Program Committee.
Why:
Consuelo's involvement in giving back to the community started with her family upbringing. Her parents were both active volunteers and strong proponents of helping others. As a pre-teen she began working for human rights and first became aware of the many needs of the elders in her community. Since then Consuelo has continued a life of community activism and advocacy for elder care. She has nurtured this value in her 13 year old son who has volunteered the past 4 years for the Walk to End Alzheimers.
Interests:
Living close to the beach, Consuelo enjoys early morning speed-walking and sunset strolls. Her hobbies include gourmet cooking for family and friends, reading historical novels and biographies, yoga, art, music, and of course volunteering.
